The Kyndred - Homeless Outreach Events Begin 10/20/2019
Amazing news! Despite many hurdles, we are now able to begin the homeless outreach aspect of our journey. It will begin on October, 20th Sunday at 2P.M. located on the north side of Balboa Park, off of 6th street, in San Diego, CA. This will hopefully continue, at least once per month, as funds allow or until we can sustain more frequent events. There is no limit to the amount we will be able to accomplish, with help and funding.
We have partnered with some knitters, so far, who are knitting scarves, gloves, jackets, beanies, hoodies, and even blankets, to provide homeless people with more clothing throughout the winter. As of now, everything is out of pocket for providing any assistance that we do. We want to eventually, be able to create a network of knitters, sewers and anyone else that wants to help, and pay them for their services. We might even be able make a brand for this network of volunteers, and sell their goods on our store, to help pay the volunteers eventually, and provide more clothing for homeless outreach.
As this continues, I hope we find more volunteers that offer assistance and help us build a stronger community of supportive, caring Kyndred. This has already been an uphill battle, and we are not even at the most difficult parts. The chances and laws are intentionally against what we are attempting to accomplish. The system is designed to keep the wealthy in wealth, and everyone else at a distance from wealth. We are not deterred by laws, or afraid of the chances. We are united as an idea, that all life is sacred, and all life deserves respect and love. We are not single, individual beings that can separate ourselves from the whole. We are interdependent and interconnected. We are Kyndred.
Feel free to help by donating, becoming a Kyndred Volunteer, or showing up to the events and posting about it anywhere you feel is relevant. The more awareness we have of our global issues, the better prepared we are to face them. Ignorance, and a lack of acceptance that homelessness is not a choice, it is not a circumstance, it is a social failing. Please, help out in any way that you can, even if it is through another organization. Get involved and help the less fortunate get an opportunity to rehabilitate and redeem themselves. It is all of our responsibility, to make ourselves and the world around us, a much better place.
Thank you all, who have donated, volunteered, and generally do their best to make the world a better place. You're magical.
Completion! We were able to give out the clothing, with bottles of water, for almost two full hours before running out.
I would really like to thank everyone who sent in articles of clothing, and any other volunteers for the amazing actions we were all able to accomplish.
I'll announce the next event once it has been finalized. Thanks again everyone 🙂
